This is primarily a medieval role play area and secondly a CCS combat sim. Whilst the rules of RPing in open chat and IMing for OCC happens here, it seems quite relaxed if everyone around is having an OCC chat. I also heard some OCC voice happening here.

All RP is done in English but the regular residents here speak a number of European languages if you need game-play help.

What I love about this sim are the secrets. In the dungeons, secret walls hide the play things behind them. In the mountains, secret boulders move to let you through into the furnished caverns. You would never know these clever touches add a richness to the excellent quality build.

This place has got to be one of the most 3D sims I have seen. They have used space very well, digging right down for the dungeons and building up and around to create a medieval village situated in medieval mountainous countryside with lots of little secret cuddle places, nooks and crannies to explore.

Five clans live here, each having their own base. Their design range from the bloody thirsty to the relatively normal. D/s behaviour is well accepted here; I spent some time with a Master and his sub. Turns out he is in charge of all the BDSM on the sim.

There is a huge ""public" dungeon that anyone can use which has some equipment in it, mind yourself tho, it is very easy to get lost down there. Corridors and offshoot rooms will soon confuse you! Lots of space and permissions to rez up your own stuff too. At least one of the clans has its own well equipped dungeon. Those are not so public and courtesy dictates that you ask first.

Everyone/thing is welcome here, except child avatars. I found this a relaxed sim, with very friendly residents. I walked past the little fairy house quickly, thinking I didn't need another home in SL!

The Bloody Guillotine Club

This is a medieval themed night club. Lots of blood-n-gore-making equipment to use on the open second floor. Obviously medieval in design, for the most part. It is a shame they have ruined the ambiance by putting in a few modern toys.

Come here with a friend if you want to play; I was here a couple of hours and no one came in. They didn't even have music piped in to keep me entertained while I was stretched, roasted, hung, drawn and quartered.

I have been in two minds whether to include this in this blog or not. And after my time today, I wonder if I am barking up the wrong tree with the name of this blog. My idea with Medieval was that it would cover things like, knights, villagers, serfs, servants, Lords and ladies as well as the more fantasy roles like elves, fairies and such all of which I have seen playing in "doing" BDSM.

Not having a great interest in them myself, I assumed they would have their own BDSM places to go play in. I have searched all day for such a place and have found nothing.

I found Aglarond, tho. I can't stress this enough, don't come here thinking it is a BDSM place, it clearly is not. Hence my hesitation to include it. I stopped here for some time, purely because it was a stunning sim to be in and I was being guided by a rather handsome and well mannered WHITE angel. Not a black feather in sight.

There is no open sex happening in this sim. What my guide did tell me was what happens in private quarters (and IM's?) is no-one's business but the occupiers. If you enjoy the medieval world about you, while you get on doing the biz privately, you may like it here. Having said that...

On my return some hours later, a sim resident was laying by the gypsy campfire. We said our hellos and our introductions. He asked me if I intended to role play being a slave in the sim. Surprised by his question, I replied with another question "Can I do that?". "Yes" was the answer. I was told the Elf King (Scrub out Elf and replace with Fae) had slaves. Oh really? I pushed a little further, I was still unsure if we were talking about thing. I went on to ask him if being leashed was acceptable. Clearly I had gone too far, too fast. He hmmed and wasn't sure.

I have hardly scratched the surface with this place; it would take weeks. In summary tho, a friendly open place set out in a medieval context, fighting here happens with DCS2 meters. I witnessed no BDSM D/s during my stay here. But maybe, somewhere hidden in the undergrowth, you may just find a rotting leashing post.
